As part of Global Education, CSI Lëtzebuerg proposes different activities designed to sensitise children aged 8 - 12 to the topic of access to education and the conditions in which their peers in other parts of the world live and learn. The “World Club”, an integral part of this awareness programme, is organised at different establishments each year. In autumn 2015, it will be hosted by the “Les p’tits bouchons” nursery school in Foetz.
The project in brief:
Through the World Club, children aged 8 – 12 discover a continent or country from all its aspects (food, music, art, dance, etc.). This year India is the focal point of activities, and the children learn, through play, about the conditions in which their peers there live and learn. The World Club takes care to emphasise not only the obstacles and challenges, but also the positive aspects of the country under the spotlight.
Meetings take place outside the school curriculum. They are organised every two weeks over the course of a term.
